Meet Nakayla | Inspired by Alicia Keys #NoMakeupMovement

Here we have Nakayla.
This is the first time Nakayla has ever done this. So, this was completely different and new to her. Personally, I adore this photoshoot. It’s not overdoing it. I enjoy the whole natural, no makeup look. I’m totally for it.
Nakayla is very bold to do this shoot. It’s all about self-love and being carefree.

As you can see Nakayla hasn’t applied any makeup on whatsoever for this photoshoot. Why?

This photoshoot, in particular, was very different than others photos I’ve taken so far… I was curious to why she didn’t want to put any makeup on. So, I asked her what inspired her to shoot without any makeup on?

Nakayla response : “What inspired me to do this shoot without makeup today was Alicia Keys starting the no makeup vow and how it transpired quickly. It is very empowering to be able to not wear makeup when it is so popular. I feel that we should be able to be our true selves without any covering our true identity up daily. We should just be free and accept ourselves for who we are flaws and all.”

Many of you may know, Alicia Keys has spark the internet where she posted a carefree picture of herself without any makeup on that caught everyone’s attention. She has ditch the beauty products to embrace her natural beauty. Which I thought was pretty interesting.
She states, “Every time I left the house, I would be worried if I didn’t put on makeup,” Keys writes on Lenny Letter. “What if someone wanted a picture?? What if they POSTED it??? These were the insecure, superficial, but honest thoughts I was thinking. And all of it, one way or another, was based too much on what other people thought of me.” –source

“It is the strongest, most empowered, most free, and most honestly beautiful that I have ever felt.” AKeys

I totally agree with her 100% You don’t have to have on makeup to feel beautiful. You know, you’re beautiful in your own way. My question is… Will this be the next new trend? What is your opinion about it? Are you up for this? Why or why not?

It’s so crazy how we never really talked in high school, yet we have so much in common. I’ve learned so much from Nakayla, it’s amazing. I’m glad I had this opportunity to do this shoot for you. I really appreciate this. Thank you for encouraging words. ✨

Here’s a few of my favorites from the shoot.
