My 5 tips: How to Stay Motivated!

You always tell yourself you’re going to start on your homework or achieve something at a specific time? That time rolls around and you tell yourself, “Oh, I’ll do it at 5:00 pm”
5 o’ clock comes around and you then tell yourself, “Oh, I’ll do it at 5:30”.
Then 5:30 comes around and you keep telling yourself you’re going to do this a million times. Does it ever get done? No. 
You know what that is, friend?
PROCRASTINATION. Greetings fellow followers!
How are we doing today?
Feeling good? Feeling sad? Feeling unmotivated?
Whatever it is that you’re feeling, I’m here to knock whatever you’re feeling and have you feeling amazing at the end of this blog post.

Now, we all however have those moments where we tend to take a step back from everything and reflect our perspectives on things. We tend to shy away, stress, and of course overwhelm ourselves with a lot of work we tend to put on our shoulders. We want to hide under a rock and never come back out until we feel “whole” again. Am I’m right? Or am I’m right?
Well my friends, I’m here to share my 5 tips on how I stay motivated.
This may not work for everyone or maybe it will. However, this is just my way of coping with my feelings.

Tip one:
Motivating YouTube videos

When I’m feeling unmotivated, uninspired or just feeling yucky about myself, I like to watch empowering, self-motivating YouTube Videos. They’re like 30 mins to an hour-long but just hearing those motivation speakers speak on what’s happening now and believing in yourself and all types of speeches. It helps me realized, I’m not alone feeling like this. Everyone goes through it, and even those motivational speakers went through it. It’s just good to hear those words from others to say “hey, you’re not alone in this.”

Tip two:

So, after I binge watch 50 thousand YouTube videos on self-care (true story)
first, I get my butt up, grab my journal, and start brainstorming of random ideas in my head. It could be about anything or a random object. For example, I could write out of no where “headphones” or anything off the wall.  For me, It gets my brain pumping for more creative ideas. I recently just started doing this and for the most part, it’s been working.

Tip three:

Tip number 2 and 3 goes hand in hand with one another. Similar, but different.
I like to write in my journal about how I’m feeling, reflect on my feelings,cope with my feelings, and deal with my feelings. Remember, your feelings always matter.
Journaling is a stress reliever for me because once I get done writing down my ideas, I like to reflect on what I wrote down and the steps that I have to take to get me on that level I’m striving for. I write my blog, personal, career, YouTube ideas, and even to-do lists! If you’re not into writing, you can always watch some motivational videos to get you going! (Tip one).

Tip four:
Self-Love Sticky Notes

I recently started doing this and when I tell you, it’s the BEST decision I have ever made in my entire life. In my bathroom, I write down some self-love quotes on a sticky note and place them on my mirror. When I wake up, the first room I go to is the bathroom. After I get done cleansing my face, I look at myself in the mirror and I read the quotes I put together on my mirror. I tell myself “I am beautiful” “I am good enough” “I am worth it”
You may not believe those things now, but when you change your mind-set and how you go about things, you’ll start to believe it some day or another. Not saying, you’re going to be a positive butterfly the next day and all your problems are gone. We all go through trials and tribulations, where we tend to lose focus. It’s good to keep in mind and remind yourself that you are good enough, you can make a difference, and you are a fighter.

Tip five:
Positive music

I know, I know. I listen to a lot of music that isn’t good for the soul. However, listening to positive and inspiring music can change the way you think. Also, it improves your self-esteem. It changes your mindset. Listening to music anyway gets me hyped. Especially, listening to calm and relaxing music when you’re taking a nice, hot bath. Oh my god, that is the best and my favorite feeling ever, it keeps me calm and focus and ready for anything I put my mind into.

  1. I LOVE inspirational/self care youtube videos, but I need to actually start using the ideas and tips that are in them. Definitely going to start doing some brainstorming whenever I go on a video marathon, and maybe actually put some of those tips to good use.
