HOW TO BUILD YOUR PERSONAL BRAND| HERE’S 5 TIPS HOW!

Starting your own brand can be a struggle, but it doesn’t have to be!

I’m here to give you 5 tips on how to build a strong personal brand! These are my own personal tips so what may work for me, may not work for you. Learning different methods of marketing will help you figure out what works best for you.

Tip 1: BUILD YOUR COMMUNITY/FOUNDATION:

Before we get into the good stuff… I have a few questions…What is your brand identity?   What kind of personality your brand has?  What are your brand core values?

Before you get anywhere, you want to build a community/foundation for your brand by providing a platform for your target audience. This may include: small groups, social media platforms, volunteer work, and etc. The most common one (in my opinion) is social media platforms. The reason being, social media is very addicting (of course) Everyone is on their cellular device not paying attention to anything that’s going on around them. So! What would be a great way to showcase your brand? On social media! INSTAGRAM prime example, you see all the glitz and glamour with brand influencers promoting their products & their comment section is flooded with questions. This is a great way to connect & engage with your potential target audience. Following similar brands like yours, engaging with others, and knowing your brand message will get your name out there so people will notice you. (Disclaimer: Don’t be those annoying instabots. Every 2 seconds, you’re commenting on a post. That’s a HUGE NO & you’ll get blocked.)

Tip 2:  TARGET AUDIENCE:

If you eat, sleep, and breathe marketing. You’ll hear the saying, “finding your niche” a thousand times. Annoying, right??? But, ITS SO TRUE! And VERY important defining your target audience. That’s basically icing on the cake with sprinkles. To get the specific audience you want…Ask yourself this: Who are your target audience? Age? What do your target audience look like? What are they wearing? Kids? Young adults? Activities? Hobbies? Animals? What kind of job they have? What shoes they’re wearing?

Yes. It’s that deep.
Those questions makes you more aware of who you’re trying to capture. For example, let’s say… you’re selling kids barbie dolls and your audience age is 65+
Think about this. This wouldn’t be your audience.

Tip 3: YOUR BRAND VISION.

Remember those questions I asked in the first paragraph?
YES. More questions!!!
Where do you see your brand within the next year? What does your brand color story look like? What does your social media platforms look like? Does your social media has a theme? If so… clean aesthetic look? Or a dark, gloomy look? Overtime, your brand vision can change. However, it’s important to know what your brand vision is because it sets a tone for your brand as well as your personality! It’s best to stay consistent as possible when it comes to a theme for all your social media platforms which goes into my 4 tip…

TIP 4: PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Now, not everyone has the latest Canon/Nikon Camera. Which is totally fine. You can definitely use your IPhone to take high quality photos for your brand. Yes, companies look at your social media presentation. However, does your photos fit with your brand theme? Is there a consistent pattern? Does your photo create a story? Well… Does it? Being that I’m self taught in photography, it’s hard to get the perfect shot and sometimes very time consuming. What works best for me is SELF TIMER. There’s so many gadgets you can use for any camera you’re using to make sure your photo turns out perfect. Practice makes perfect. I’m still learning!

TIP: 5 REMAINING CONSISTENT

Fun fact: Plan out your content, shoot dates, and posts on your calendar a month ahead. (Still learning this also)

Creating a content calendar will be your BEST FRIEND, seriously. It reduces SO much stress instead of doing things at the last minute which i have NEVER done (Lol). This helps keep me grounded and up to date with my posts!
Remaining consistent is sometimes challenging because we’re all adulting. If you’re serious, you want to hold yourself accountable. My friends tell me all the time (like yesterday) to pick yourself up and stop procrastinating. I tend to beat myself up about not being as consistent as much yet I’m changing things for the better and for myself.

So, what’s your biggest challenge when it comes to building your personal brand??
